Needs analysis and course design
The client is a senior investment manager whose job requires her to deal with companies all over the world. She wishes to improve her presentation skills in English and develop her ability to deal confidently in English with international business associates.
We put together a course of 20 lessons that focussed primarily on practical presentation skills but also covered role play and other exercises in the following areas:
- effective participation in meetings,
- descriptions and interpretations of graphs, trends and figures,
- effective public speaking techniques,
- how to craft a memorable message,wider, more expressive vocabulary in the areas of the business, particularly in the financial markets,
By the end of the course, my client was able to deliver a presentation confidently and eloquently in English, could interact more fluently with international business contacts and could draw on a much wider base of words and expressions to use in meetings, reports and email correspondence.
