English for the Environment
Target Group
Any professional who may be participating in debates, discussions, guided tours of plants, etc, and people who need to learn the vocabulary related to environmental issues and practice discussing these issues.
Course Content
This course seeks to improve your general vocabulary regarding environmental issues and help you become more confident when explaining/debating issues relevant to your profession. In addition to vocabulary exercises, we will be reading and discussing different articles regarding the following areas:
- Renewable Energy
- Energy Efficiency
- Fossil Fuel Technologies
- Infrastructure and Energy Carriers
- Intelligent Energy
- Environmental Technology
- Climate Adaptation
Companies may also request tailor-made, in-house courses which will focus more on the specific company.
Course Aim
By the end of the course you will have:
- Expanded your vocabulary
- Become more practiced at explaining your company’s and/or your personal views on the different environmental issues and what you are doing to affect these issues
- Achieved a greater command of spoken English and become more confident in debating and presenting
