I had just got a new job as "integration officer" with Københavns Kommune. However, my Danish was far from perfect. In order to improve my level of Danish, I got in touch with Studieskolen to discuss taking a tailored language course.
My teacher, Lone, and I took a systematic approach and concentrated on my language skills, starting with my current level. The course was based on an intensive and structured program that included pronunciation, reading and written excersises. In addition, we discussed many aspects of my job and situation, for example, Danish culture and mentality both at work and at home.
Throughout this process, I received excellent guidance and tips. I also obtained some fundamental advice and information which will help me continue to improve my Danish. For example, my teacher advised me to attend meetings organised by my trade union. I have already begun to do this and can confirm that I have made great progress!
To sum up, I found the course extremely beneficial and I enjoyed the positive attitude of my teacher and the great atmosphere.
