Business Danish
Target audience
This course is aimed at non-Danes who are employed by a Danish firm or who are on a professional posting in Denmark. In these cases, it is vitally important that they learn the language quickly, in order to be able to participate fully in Danish professional life. This generally means learning the relevant industry terminology and practising the type of language used in business meetings, in the company canteen or between employees.
Course content
All courses are designed around the student’s area of business and will incorporate materials and situations from their workplace. For example, we work on meetings, small talk, telephone skills, customer service, email or letter writing. At a higher level, we work on report writing, presentations and writing memos and meeting minutes.
As new vocabulary is introduced, it will be actively included in spoken and written exercises.
As well material from the student’s workplace, we often use the text book “Forretningsdansk” (Business Danish).
All courses include an insight into Danish business culture.
Results
By the end of the course, students will be more skilled at communicating with colleagues and clients and better equipped to perform successfully within a Danish organisation.
Course structure
The length of the course will depend on the student’s existing level of Danish and their personal objectives. A typical course would begin with between 40 – 60 lessons and be extended according the needs and wishes of the student.
