Danish Pronunciation
Target audience
This course is aimed at non-Danes who wish to focus primarily on Danish pronunciation, improving how well they are understood at work and in everyday life in Denmark.
Course content
We begin by listening carefully to the student and identifying their pronunciation problems. There may be problems with the pronunciation of specific vowels or sounds that do not exist in the student’s mother tongue. Alternatively, a strong national accent may be overpowering their Danish pronunciation. Our teachers have the skills and experience necessary to help students overcome all these problems. The student will work intensely with their teacher to improve their particular pronunciation, focusing on the rhythm and melody of Danish, intonation and glottal stops and individual Danish sounds. We use the language laboratory, cds and an on-line pronunciation programme that the student can work with at home.
Results
By the end of the course, the student will be able to communicate more clearly and be easily understood when they speak in Danish.
Course structure
A pronunciation course is typically made up of between 20-30 lessons. We recommend 2-3 lessons once a week to give the student time to practice at home.
